Shawna Salamon PA-C
Shawna Salamon PA-C, joined The Western Pennsylvania
Hospital in 1999 as a surgical physician assistant. Since then, she has
been instrumental in the coordination of patients and their care at the
Center for Pelvic Floor Diseases through physiology studies and an
emphasis on education and counseling for patients. She is an applicant for
The American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons (ASCRS).
Mrs. Salamon received a bachelor of science degree from
Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania, where she graduated magna cum
laude. Her clinical experience includes physical diagnosis, laboratory
science, statistics, medical science and pharmacology. Prior to joining
West Penn Hospital, Mrs. Salamon completed nine intensive six-week
rotations in hospital, clinical and office settings in a variety of areas
including general surgery, internal medicine, mental health, obstetrics
and gynecology, family practice, orthopedics, pediatrics and emergency
medicine.
While at Gannon University, Mrs. Salamon was a member of
the Society of Physician Assistants Students, the Phi Eta Sigma Honor
Society and Who’s Who Among American College Students.

Lea O’Keefe PA-C
Lea O’Keefe PA-C, joined the Western Pennsylvania Hospital in 2003 as a
surgical physician assistant. A graduate of Duquesne University, Mrs.
O’Keefe earned both a bachelor of health science and a master of physician
assistant, where she graduated magna cum laude.
Prior to joining Western Pennsylvania Hospital, Mrs. O’Keefe completed
eight clinical rotations in the areas of family practice, obstetrics and
gynecology, psychiatry, pediatrics, surgery, internal medicine, and
emergency medicine. She also served as president of the Physician
Assistant Student Association (PASA).
A member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) and
Pennsylvania Society of Physician Assistants (PSPA), Mrs. O’Keefe is also
the recipient of the Pennsylvania Society of Physician Assistants
Nathaniel Alston Student Achievement Award. Mrs. O’Keefe is also an
applicant for The American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons (ASCRS).
